A COFFEE shop will provide the intimate setting for a brand new musical opening this week.

Stickman Productions will present Tomorrow, Maybe by Southampton composers Stephanie Jayne Amies and Teddy Clements.

It will be performed in Asante Coffee Shop in Romsey with all proceeds going to charity c4c (Citizens for Change).

Tomorrow, Maybe will mark the first time a full-length musical by Amies & Clements has been fully staged.

The Asante Coffee Shop performances run from tomorrow until Saturday and then again from Tuesday May 12-Friday, May 15.

The musical, set in a commuters’ coffee shop, has been written as a site-specific immersive piece and Stickman Productions have partnered with Asante to realise the piece in its intended setting.

Featuring a talented cast of local performers the show explores the lives of the customers who pass through the shop.

Stephanie Jayne Amies and Teddy Clements said: “We find coffee shops fascinating places – we look at people and wonder who they are and how they got there.

"Tomorrow, Maybe poses questions about those people we cross paths with every day whilst going about our lives.

"Do they know anything about each other? Do they care? The show considers what we would see if we took a moment to stop and look around us.”

Asante Coffee Shop is run to support c4c (Citizens for Change), a charity that helps to feed and educate children and young people in Kisumu, Kenya.

All proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to the charity to aid its continuing work in Kenya.
