A HAMPSHIRE pub is set to have a new lease of life.
The Bede’s Lea in North Baddesley underwent a complete transformation after a ‘significant investment’ from owners Punch Taverns.
Now the watering hole is set to re-open its doors as a family dining pub on May 15.
The makeover has seen the pub given zoned seating areas, a relaxed bar area and a brand new carvery which will be provided seven days a week.
While outside a new rustic play area has been installed, to add to the current children’s play area.
The pub is run by Liz Page and her son Dan King, and is their third pub together.
They hope the refurbishment will be a hit with the punters.
Liz said: “We want The Bede’s Lea to reach its full potential as a busy community pub, where locals including families can come and drink, eat and relax.
After our joint investment with Punch Taverns, it’s going to be a much nicer environment for the local community and a pub where everyone is welcome.
New Business Development Manager for Punch Taverns, Chris Coxhead said: “We’re delighted to invest in this property. We believe that family team Liz and Dan with the support of their new manager, will put The Bede’s Lea right back into the heart of the community.”
