A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after it crashed into a ditch in Hampshire today.

The incident, which involved one car, happened in Shelley Lane in Ower near Romsey this afternoon.

Two fire engines from Romsey Fire Station along with police closed off the road and fire-fighters helped extract a female who was trapped in the car.

Hampshire police say they were called to the scene at 11.31am, and a driver and a passenger were in the Kia Sorento which was involved in the crash.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “We got the call at 11.25am, we sent a crew and an ambulance officer and they are assessing and treating one patient who sustained possible neck and chest injuries and the patient was taken to Southampton General Hospital.”

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to the scene at 11.48am and the stop call was at 12.25pm.
