RAIDERS have targeted a Hampshire store for the second time in a week.

Burglars attempted to raid the Co-operative in North Baddesley again but fortunately were disturbed by a neighbour.

This follows a raid in which thousands of pounds of cigarettes are thought to have been taken six days earlier.

Again men wearing biker helmets and using a motorbike tried to enter the store, managing to break one of the glass windows before they were scared off at around 2.30am yesterday.

The store fell victim to three men who smashed their way into the Botley Road shop and rushed to the counter where they took what staff have estimated to be thousands of pounds of cigarettes.

This happened last Thursday around 5am.

Police say they are linking the two incidents and are also looking at whether this is linked to another cigarette raid at a Co-operative store in Holbury on October 20.

Thieves made off with hundreds of pounds worth of cigarettes in the early hours incident.
