A GRANDMOTHER was stranded for nearly nine hours after suffering a fall at her home.
The 78-year-old had be rescued by firefighters this morning after collapsing at her bungalow in Botley Road, North Baddesley.
The pensioner fell over in her living room at 10.30pm last night, but her bedbound husband was unable to hear her cries for help until he woke up at around 6.40am this morning.
Crews from Eastleigh fire station were called and forced open a window before a firefighter crawled through and helped the grateful woman up.
Paramedics were called to assess hip and leg pains she was complaining of but it is unknown whether she needed hospital treatment.
