IT IS set to be one of the liveliest events in Romsey this year.

Thousands of people are expected to make their way to the market town for the Beggars Fair next month.

There will be 25 venues across Romsey staging musical events on Saturday, July 8.

And now, as preparations for the 25th instalment of the annual event are in full swing, the committee has launched new T-shirts for the event.

Organisers hope that hordes of people will be sporting the must-have items throughout the day as people enjoy the sounds ringing out from venues across the town.

This year’s T-shirt displays the names of the acts taking part in a big ‘25’ to mark the event’s anniversary.

People have until June 22 to order their t-shirt.

Although the main event will finish in the evening, revellers are expected to party until closing time at the town’s various pubs and bars.

Thus, a number of road closures will be in place throughout the town centre in order to allow the crowds to party to the music in The Hundred and Market Place where the main stages will be.

There will also be a Youth Festival at the War Memorial Park.

Alcohol will not be allowed on the streets, only in the pubs and bars littered around town.
