Drive-off fuel thefts at service stations

POLICE are hunting motorists behind two drive-off fuel thefts.

The first happened at Greatbridge Garage on the Stockbridge Road, Romsey, on Wednesday evening when a man filled his Saab up with £55 worth of petrol and then drove off without paying.

In another incident on Thursday morning a man made off with 95 litres of diesel worth £97 after filling up a blue Leyland-Daf truck at Romsey Service Station in Winchester Road. He went into the service station shop and claimed he had no means of payment then fled.
