A former Earby police “cubbyhole” has been declared surplus to requirements by the West Craven Area Committee.
The flat-roofed building next to the Earby Parish Rooms was previously used as a police station, but was vacated by police in 2002.
“I would call it a former police cubbyhole, not a police station,” said area committee chairman, Coun David Whipp (Lib Dem).
Earby councillor Chris Tennant (Cons) added: “If you’ve ever been in there, it was not an ideal place for our police to operate from.”
The building is currently being used as a welfare base for Pendle Council’s road sweeper and storage.
If Pendle Council’s executive agree to the committee’s recommendation, the building would be transferred to Earby Town Council.
