RESIDENTS who do their bit for the environment could be rewarded with Nectar points.
Colchester Council is investigating whether those who diligently recycle as much rubbish as possible should be given Nectar points or a similar offer.
The proposal was revealed in a debate over whether people who refuse to recycle should be fined.
Martin Hunt, councillor responsible for waste, said: “While it is important for me to have the power to issue the fixed penalty notices, we need to find a way where people who already recycle are rewarded.”
