A FAMILY were evacuated from a home last night after a fire began at a house in Southampton.
Eleven fire fighters were called to a house Saturn Close in Lordshill at about 11.40pm after an electrical fault in a shower led to the fire in the terraced house.
Fire fighter Dan O'Rourke from Hightown fire station said that quick thinking on the part of the household prevented the fire from spreading.
He said: “They did quite well. They shut all the doors upstairs and that contained most of the smoke.”
Crews from Redbridge and Hightown used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to put out the fire.
