SHE'S DONNING a bear suit to entertain her classmates and raise money for charity.

Eight-year-old Evelyn Nagy is on a fundraising mission to support Children in Need.

As a Year 4 pupil at Shirley Warren Primary School, she has taken part in various student fundraising events.

But this time she will be going it alone and using her three years of piano tuition to put on a concert - dressed as Pudsey the Bear.

After being allowed to stay up late and watch the appeal night show last year, Evelyn, who lives in Shirley Warren, was inspired to help children her age that may need extra support.

So on Friday after spending the day at school in fancy dress, fellow pupils, teachers, family and friends will gather in the assembly hall for her concert, which will also be streamed live on YouTube.

Evelyn's father, Robert said: “She was determined to do something after watching the show and has made us so proud, coming up with the idea of what to do by herself.

“She wanted to find a way to help children in need and will be playing the songs she has been learning for her piano exam as well as two songs that she wrote herself.

He added: “Evelyn is thrilled at the idea of any money she raises potentially helping to save a child's life or improve it.

“She's really excited and wants to make a change, it's lovely to see her so inspired and hopefully lots of people will support what she is doing.”

Evelyn will be performing in the school at 2.45pm on Friday, November 14, to support her, visit justgiving.com/Evelyn-Nagy.
