A FAMILY has seen for the first time the devastation caused by an explosion that brought their house down while they were inside.

Liberty and Jay Sabanal and their daughter Bella, four, saw the wreckage of what was their Southampton home.

Jay, 36, and Bella were asleep in the house in Howards Grove, Shirley, when disaster struck and were pulled from the debris.

Liberty, 36, a nurse, was working at the time of the blast on Tuesday morning.

The three, pictured right, surveyed the remains of their house and met with insurers.

An investigation is continuing into the cause.

Donations for the family are also continuing to come in, with organisers of the Fundraise for Hope campaign are storing for them.

Sarah-Jane Gales, owner of Nappytastic Childcare Supplies, in Woolson, which is helping to coordinate residents’ efforts, said they still needed kitchen utensils, more clothes for Jay, toiletries and bedding.
