POLICE are appealing for information after a robbery at a Southampton shop

The robbery occurred at the Co-Op in Bitterne Park yesterday at 6.45pm when a masked man demanded a shop assistant opened the till.

No one was hurt during the robbery but the man, believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, got away with £150 in £5 notes.

The man has been described as 5ft 8 tall, skinny with a local accent and wearing a khaki hooded top, cream woollen hat with a red logo and a blue scarf covering his lower face.

He was last seen heading down Manor Farm Road towards Riverside Park and Hampshire police ask for anyone who saw a man fitting this description in the Bitterne Park Triangle area last night to come forward.
