A MAN was stabbed in a vicious attack in a Southampton street yesterday.
Officers were called to Golden Grove in St Mary's when a 34-year old man was knifed during an assault at about 9.10am.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Four people, a 42-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man - all from Southampton - and a 21-year-old man from London, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and are currently in police custody.
Residents have been returning to their homes to find dozens of police combing the area searching for vital clues.
It is believed that four police cars and four police vans were at the scene.
