HER mother describes her as the most generous person she knows.

Little Mia Maidment is forever finding ways to help people and make new friends.

The five-year-old from Millbrook always asks if she can give her pocket money to homeless people or buy their dogs pet food and likes to wave at everyone as she walks down the high street.

Now she is giving a child the chance to have their flowing locks back as they battle hair loss due to cancer treatment.

Mia is getting ready to chop off at least six inches of her chocolate brown hair to make a wig for a child battling cancer.

The Redbridge Primary School pupil found out about the Little Princess Trust when her mum, 24-year-old shop worker Kay, found a video about what the charity does.

After watching the video Mia told her mum that she really wanted to give her hair to the princesses because she has hair down to her waist that they could use.

Kay is now helping her daughter to raise £350, which will help the Little Princess Trust to make a wig and they will be visiting a hair dressing salon next month for Mia to have her hair cut.

Kay said: “I’m all for what Mia is doing, it is brilliant. She is always trying to do something for people in need and loves helping.

“Whenever Mia sees a homeless person she asks me to get them some food or a drink and uses the pennies in her pocket to give to them.

“Mia is very bubbly and loud, very outgoing and so generous.

I think this means a lot to her and her hair will grow back but she sees a chance to help and is taking it.”
