A CARE worker faces losing her job after being convicted of drink driving.

Jodie Rogers had enjoyed a night out with friends and made the decision to drive home, having had a drink, Southampton magistrates were told.

When she was stopped by police on Maybray King Way she recorded a reading of 88mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35mg in 100ml of breath.

Rogers, 21, of Cranbourne Park, Hedge End, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

The court heard that as a result of the conviction she now faces losing her job as she needs a car to get to her appointments.

She was given a 17-month driving ban, ordered to pay a £200 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
