LET'S turn St Mary's orange.

That is the call from staff of an appropriately named Southampton hotel as Saints face a crunch clash in their bid for European football this weekend.

Bosses and workers at the Flying Dutchman have joined the campaign for fans to wear orange to the match with rivals Tottenham Hotspur at home on Saturday.

The game - which will see Southampton's Dutch manager Ronald Koeman face ex-Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is returning to the club for the first time since leaving just over a year ago - is crucial for both teams as they fight it out for European qualification.

Staff at the Flying Dutchman hotel, bar and restaurant in Terminus Terrace are hoping that fans will turn St Mary's Stadium into a sea of orange to support the Dutch contingent of manager Ronald Koeman, his brother Erwin Koeman who is assistant head coach and fitness coach Jan Kluitenberg.

It comes as the Daily Echo is backing Saints #WeMarchOn campaign as Saints push on for a place in Europe next season.

Flying Dutchman owner Russell Muzumder is a big Saints fan and believes the club can push on for even greater things than their current European ambitions.

Daily Echo:

Russell said: “I hope lots of Saints fans will be wearing orange for the game. I think it is absolutely fantastic how they're doing, I am really proud, the team are doing so well and are getting stronger and stronger every time I see them. I think the way Saints are going they can win the Premier League in a few years.”

The idea to get Saints fans to wear orange came from Liam Edgar, who runs clothing range Raw Spirit.

As revealed by the Daily Echo yesterday, the 29-year-old designed a specially made orange T-shirt with the Dutch boss's inspiring quote “the key is to believe in ourselves” emblazoned on the front.

The T-shirt costs £15 and can be bought online at uniquesaints.co.uk
