A BOXING event has raised thousands of pounds to support a Southampton sportsman with an incurable illness.
Matt Gay, 46, has competed across Hampshire in motorcycling, football and cricket matches but was forced to stop after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Now a team of businessmen have raised £6,500 at a boxing event in Bournemouth to go towards Matt’s care.
The BC Club works to raise money for various causes, and from ticket sales they raised enough money to pay for Matt’s day-to-day living.
