A LARGE reward is being offered in an investigation into a robbery at a Southampton post office.

It comes after three masked men went into the branch in Portswood Road and stole cash from the tills.

And the Post Office is offering a £4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

CCTV images have been released of the three men, who appear to have arrived on the scene in a silver Vauxhall Astra that was driven into Addis Square behind the branch.

One man remained inside the vehicle while the three robbers entered and forced their way behind the counter before making off with a dark coloured cashier’s tray containing a ‘large quantity’ money.

The car was then seen driving away in the direction of Brookvale Road.

The suspects were all described as white with two around 5ft 7ins tall and of stocky build, one wearing an orange bandana and the other a black hooded top with a face covering.

A third suspect was described as skinny and wearing a grey hooded top and a white face mask.

No one was injured during the robbery, which took place at around 9.20am on Friday, April 17.

A spokesman for the Post Office said: “The people who run our Post Office branches provide important services to local communities. Any robbery or attempted robbery is very traumatic for those involved. We will be supporting the police in their efforts to apprehend those responsible with a reward of £4,000 for information leading to their arrest and conviction.”
