SOUTHAMPTON City Council's children's services department is holding a recruitment day on Friday (June 5).

Taking place from 9.30am to 2pm at the Civic Centre, the event will be a chance for people to find out about job opportunities in the department.

It will feature a talk from the cabinet member for children's services, the head of the department and front-line staff about the department, changes that have taken place and what it will look like going forward.

Anyone attending can also ask questions and talk to key people in the department in lectures, exhibits and workshops.

Dan Jeffery, cabinet member for education and children's social care, said: "We realise that to get the best outcomes for children and adults we need a committed, informed, well trained and excellently supported workforce.

"We are determined that our staff be the best they can be, so that Southampton's children, young people and adults at risk, are safe, are achieving and are well supported. It's all focused on a single goal: to ensure the best possible outcome for every child.”
