A MAN was left with serious injuries after being attacked in a Southampton park.
The 49-year-old man was walking through Watts Park when he was attacked by two men in the area next to the Cenotaph and Cumberland Place sometime between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, May 30.
He received serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Detectives are appealing for any members of the public who may have been in Watts Park on Saturday evening and who may have seen the incident or people running away towards the Polygon area of the city.
Police say there is no information to suggest this was a random attack or that there is a wider risk to the public.
They have revealed that a 23-year-old man has received a caution for possession of cannabis in relation to the investigation.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Investigation Team at Southampton Central police station by phoning 101.
