CONTROVERSIAL comedian Dapper Laughs is to play Southampton tonight, as part of a UK tour.

The prankster - real name Daniel O'Reilly - is playing the Joiners Arms in the St Mary's area of the city.

He is best known for his dating advice show on ITV2 - Dapper Laughs On the Pull, with his catchphrases, "she knows" and "proper moist".

However, he made his name online via 'one-liner' jokes and pranks recorded on his phone, which attracted millions of views and followers.

From there he moved on to stand-up comedy where his controversial jokes have landed him in hot water.

He was filmed making jokes about rape during one show and a number of his videos show what has been described by some as 'misogynistic' comments.

Last year, he got into row with journalists on Twitter about some of the jokes he had made.

Soon after, ITV2 decided not to renew his TV show for another series and he appeared on the BBC's Newsnight to apologise for any offence he had caused.

It was then he said the Dapper Laughs character 'was dead'. He later claimed he was bullied into the move.

Since then, O'Reilly has resurrected Dapper Laughs and will tonight play the Joiners Arms, starting at 8.30pm.

The show is strictly over-18s only and the poster states that anyone who is "easily offended or a hater should stay away".

After the show, he will be hosting an aftershow party at a club in Bournemouth.
