A PAIR of iconic red phone boxes will reopen their doors as Hampshire’s smallest art galleries this week.
K6 Gallery, which takes its name from the model number of the kiosks, is set to open on Friday.
The former phone boxes, which sit side by side below Southampton’s medieval walls in Castle Way, measure about two square meters.
Art lovers Alex Batten, Joel Papps, Elouise Rose and Stuart Elbrow bought the boxes for just £1 as part of BT’s ‘Adopt a Kiosk’ scheme.
K6 will be officially opened by Southampton artist Greg Gilbert who has since exhibited across the region as an illustrator, including a recent solo show at the City Gallery.
