A new promotional video highlighting the many reasons why Southampton is a ‘must visit’ city has been launched this week.

Co-ordinated by local firm The Marketing Collective, the video explores what’s fantastic about the city.

From heritage and the picturesque green open spaces, to the sports facilities or world class arts and music scene, the video shouts about what Southampton has to offer tourists and residents alike.

Working with organisations, venues, businesses and individuals across the city, The Marketing Collective, who also produce The Southampton Pocket Guide, is keen to encourage a collaborative approach in marketing and promoting the city.

Jo Andrews, Managing Director, said: “There are so many reasons to visit the city. We have interviewed, filmed and worked with over 25 businesses on this video project – there is a real passion for Southampton from the people that live and work here and that is conveyed in this short feature video. we don’t want people to just take our word for it, but also those who share the passion for Southampton as a destination.

“It is about finding and sharing the unique and quirky things about the city to encourage more weekend and day visitors, cruise passengers, businesses to invest and generally creating a positive and welcoming message, we are actively encouraging people to ‘like’ and share this video to help showcase this wonderful city.

“The city has a nationally acclaimed art gallery which has the most important collection of 21st century British art outside the Tate, great museums and an old town with fascinating medieval walls, plus a large scale presenting theatre and regional producing theatre. The parks, open spaces and the international food offering demonstrate the eclectic mix of the city Businesses, residents and visitors are being encouraged to use #visitsouthampton to share their reasons to visit.
