A BOWLING alley in Southampton was shrouded in smoke last night after fire broke out.
Firefighters from St Mary’s, Redbridge and Hightown were all called to Tenpin Southampton, formerly Megabowl in Auckland Road just before midnight after a light fitting exploded.
The crews were all called to put out the small blaze and had to stay on the scene for two hours after to make sure all the smoke had been extracted.
A spokesman from St Mary’s fire station said the property was not damaged and a quick investigation revealed that it was a light fitting which had blown and caused the fire.
