SOUTHAMPTON’S Old Post Office could be turned into flats.
Space at the building in High Street is now empty after the previous commercial occupier moved out and efforts to find a new tenant failed.
Now Chapel Properties (Bournemouth) Ltd has come forward with residential proposals for the building, once the city’s main Post Office.
If approved, the mid 19th century building could contain a mixture of two studio apartments and two two-bed flats.
A new commercial unit would also be created at the site.
City council planners are likely to reach a decision on the plans by March 17.
