A MULTIPLE sclerosis sufferer was injured when a fire began in his one-bedroom flat in Southampton last night.
Fire fighters were called to Hawkley Green in Weston after the fire began at about 9.30pm because of a discarded cigarette.
The fire was out by the time crews from Hightown fire station arrived but the occupant, who is believed to be in his 50s was treated on the scene by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
He did not require further treatment.
