A SINGALONG to 80s classic Rio by thousands of sunburnt festival-goers brought the final day of Common People to a blistering close.

Duranies old and new were wowed by a 90 minute set by Duran Duran, mainly made up of the band's greatest hits including Hungry Like the Wolf, Girls on Film and Wild Boys, and propelled beach balls into the crowd as they brought the curtain down on this year's festival.

They were last up on a main stage on The Common which was bathed in glorious sunshine all day and had earlier been graced by Katy B, Jamie Lawson and The Cuban Brothers.

Lycra clad GMTV favourite Mr Motivator got the early afternoon crowd going with a mass workout and Chas & Dave launched into some of their Rockney classics, including Rabbit and Snooker Loopy.

The Joiners hosted Uncommon stage, featuring Southampton favourites The Rising and hotly-tipped local act Science of Eight Limbs, was doing a roaring trade.

A generally older crowd enjoyed Sunday's offerings with no repeat of the queuing and crowd problems of the previous day.

More than 40,000 revellers enjoyed this year's second Common People over the two days.
