THOUSANDS of people are set to descend on Mayflower Park next month for one of the biggest fireworks displays in the region.

The Daily Echo is once again backing the event that is set to go with a bang as it falls on November 5.

Organisers Southampton Round Table say they are hoping for another record breaking year as the money raised from the event goes towards numerous charities and good causes throughout the year.

The fun starts at 3pm at Mayflower Park with an all day funfair courtesy of Coles.

This year the fireworks are being organised by double world firework champions Pyrotex with the show beginning at 7.45pm.

Organiser Chris Tahmasaby said: “We have had record breaking years over the past few and all money goes to local charities and causes in Southampton who desperately need help.

"Recent beneficiaries have included Radio Lollipop, Simon Says, Samaritans (Southampton division) and Hamble Life Boat.

“We are once again hoping to have a record breaking year and be able to help many more organisations with the funds raised from the fireworks event.”

Tickets are now on sale for the event which can be purchased online through PayPal at www.mayflowerparkfireworks.co.uk.

The event is organised by Southampton Round Table members who are made up of local volunteers.
