A WEDDING fair has raised more than £1,900 for charity.
Held at Southampton’s Holiday Inn yesterday the day was a feast of fashion, fun and inspiration for brides-to-be and their families.
With a fashion show of gowns by Mayflower Bridal, who create bespoke designs from their shop on Commercial Road, the models had hair done by Woolston’s Look Ahead salon and flowers by Pauline and Nikki from CoverSash Blooms.
There were stalls for the city’s bridal experts as well as food and drink and a goodie bag for the first to arrive.
And with such a good response organiser Donna Parson’s said the team is already considering setting an event up for next year.
All money raised will go to the children’s oncology and haematology centre at Southampton General Hospital. Known as the Piam Brown ward, it is one of 22 centres across the country which provides care for children and teenagers with cancer.
The unit has a ten-bed inpatient ward, a day care and an outpatient area.
