Dozens of naturists and cycling activists gathered in Southampton for the annual gathering of the World Naked Bike Ride.

Now in its seventh year, the aim is to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists on the road.

And this year's event truly was global - with participants from Hampshire, Switzerland and Australia.

One man, Carl Barker, 58, a professional life model from Sydney, is taking in as many rides around the world as he can, as well as cycling from Blackpool to Istanbul as a personal, and often naked, challenge.

The cyclists went through Portswood, Bargate and up the Avenue before finishing on the Common.
