SHOP staff from Currys PC World in Southampton took part in a charity football tournament to help raise money for the victims of the Grenfell Tower block fire.

Sales assistant and fundraising organiser Abbie Lloyd and store manager Andrew Wilkins put the tournament together with each player taking part paying £5 towards the charity.

The aim was to raise money for the people affected by the horrific blaze at Grenfell Tower, Kensington, which has left at least 80 people dead.

The tournament was held at Goals five a side football centre in Millbrook. Shops that were involved were Currys branches at West Quay, Hedge End, Basingstoke and Winchester.

A total of £130 was raised during the tournament and all funds will go to the people affected in the Grenfell Tower fire.

Store manager Andrew Wilkins said: “I hope to get more stores from the south to play in another tournament.

The West Quay store previously helped raise money for the Manchester Fund after the shocking terror attack on the Ariana Grande concert.

Staff at the charity Heads Together dressed up as cartoon characters and a cake sale was held throughout the weekend, raising a total of £205.20
