A SOUTHAMPTON pub has announced it is closed.

The Bitterne Park Hotel posted on its Facebook site that it is "officially closed" and asked social media users not to post on the page.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo, police were called to the pub in October 2016 after the landlord claimed she was told to leave.

Then-landlord Krista Campbell was managing the pub, which is on Cobden Avenue, but said she had been instructed by Pub Solutions to vacate the building.

And in March this year, a man was stabbed in the neck in a late-night attack.

The 28-year-old man was hit in the face and neck with a glass and left bleeding on the doorstep.

A spokesperson for Ei Publican Partnerships, who own the pub, said: “We can confirm that the Bitterne Park Hotel is currently shut. We are currently looking for a new operator to take over the site and hope to reopen as soon as possible.”
