A MAN has been charged with murder following a stabbing in Southampton.

Adam Abdallah, 42, of Derby Road, will appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

It comes just days after police were called to a stabbing at the junction of Union Road and Radcliffe Road.

The incident took place at around 11.50pm on 18 September.

The victim, Kirpal Sanghera, 39, later died in hospital.

His brother, ex-partner, sister and parents have all revealed their shock and sadness following the incident.

Mr Sanghera's sister Jagpal said: "He always had a smile on his face and always seemed to have a new joke to tell. He was the best brother you could get.

"He was always there for me when I needed him and he was the only one I could talk to openly.

"It feels like a piece of my heart has been ripped out.

"Your sister is going to miss you so much."

Ex-partner Kirsty said: "We are all heartbroken about what happened. He was the father of our two beautiful boys who miss him so much already.

"We shared a lot of memories and his happy, bright and funny personality will live on through his boys.

"You will always be their 'best friend'. Rest in peace."

Police have now confirmed that Mr Sanghera died of stab wounds and officers are still keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles that passed the incident at the junction of Union Road and Radcliffe Road at about 11.50pm on Monday.
