OFFICERS have launched an appeal after four people fled the scene following a police chase in Southampton.

A VW Passat which was travelling down Portswood Road in Portswood, failed to stop for police.

Initially, the vehicle crashed into a van and car near the junction of Earls Road and Alma Road in Portswood with both suffering minor damage shortly before 11am on Tuesday.

The vehicle then crashed into another car, a Mazda belonging to Chloe Burgess before coming to a stop on Portswood Road.

Chloe, a 28-year-old children’s nurse from Portswood was informed of the damage by officers.

She told the Daily Echo: “When I found out I was completely angry.

Hampshire Police did not give any more details about the chase but it is understood that the four men are still on the run.
