A BOAT has been dumped in a Southampton car park after being abandoned by fly-tippers.
The rigid inflatable was taken to a residents-only car park in Springford Road and abandoned in one of the parking bays.
Gary Hiscock, who lives nearby said it appeared to have been dumped yesterday evening.
He added: "I went down there about 10pm to get something from my car and couldn't believe it when I saw a boat had been dumped in the car park.
"It's damaged and doesn't appear to be seaworthy - it's just been fly-tipped.
"I was shocked that someone would do that in a residential area. It's nothing short of vandalism.
"We've had people empty the contents of their car but it's the first time anyone has dumped anything as big as a boat.
"I've sent a photograph to the city council so it's down to them now."
