FREEZING rain is expected tomorrow morning after the Met Office issued a weather warning for snow and ice.
The warning comes after one of the coldest weeks of the year and Southampton residents are being warned to be aware of slippy surfaces.
The temperature is forecast to rise to about 7C overnight but will drop again in the morning, and a weather warning for ice is in place from 4am until 10am on Friday.
The Met Office's weather warning says: "Following a spell of rain, temperatures will fall quickly later in the night allowing ice to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads.
"A few wintry showers will follow. Some injuries from slips and accidents on icy surfaces are possible.
"Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."
