PLANS to create an additional flats at a home in Newtown have been refused.
Developers CMCdesign Architectural Services had hoped to convert the roof of listed building 5 Cranbury Avenue into a one bedroom studio flats with roof lights and associated cycle storage.
In the application the firm said: "The development should be welcomed as it provides additional accommodation with amenity in an area of demand, suitable for young professionals.
"The proposal would be in keeping with the site and surrounding properties and would not have a harmful impact on the amenities of the neighbouring properties."
However, on Tuesday April 3 Southampton City Council rejected the plans.
