Brother Jack Davis faces more allegations of indecent assault

DETECTIVES have charged a Hampshire headmaster with more offences of alleged indecent assault on a young child, the Daily Echo can reveal.

Brother Jack Davis was brought back before police over two more counts concerning a child under the age of 13.

Davis, the head of St Mary’s College in Southampton, was initially facing six charges relating to historic sex offences against teenagers.

Those allegations were made by three former pupils at the college, where Davis has worked for more than 30 years.

However in May this year officers brought two more charges against the 65-yearold.

Now an additional two charges of indecent assault have also been laid, bringing the total to ten.

Police have confirmed that the allegations now relate to seven victims who were all children at the time.

All of the alleged offences took place in the 1970s and 1980s.

Davis, of St Gabrielle’s Road, London, appeared in Court in March following the initial charges, where he spoke only to confirm his name and address and indicate his not guilty plea.

In May he reappeared to have two more counts put to him in court.

Davis is now expected to appear once again before Southampton Magistrates Court where these latest charges, put to him last week, will be read out.

Davis has been suspended from the £4,700-a-year school in Bitterne Park since he was charged with the first alleged offences. He is currently on police bail.
