SIX people have been charged by police investigating the supply of heroin and crack cocaine in Southampton.
Officers from Hampshire's Major Investigation Team made a series of arrests when they swooped on eight addresses - two in the city and six in London - on Tuesday, as part of an operation that has been running since July.
The warrants are part of an investigation, codenamed Operation Independence, targeting people suspected of being involved in an organised crime network working between London and Southampton, supplying class A drugs.
The Southampton properties were in Baxter Road and Fullerton Close.
Six people arrested in the operation were this morning charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin, between June 22, 2011, and April 4, 2012.
All six - Santino White, 19, of Yeames Close, Eling; Jahlani McCalmon, 22, of Silverdale Gardens, Hayes; Jarvis Ansah, 21, of Baxter Road, Southampton; Bradley Roberts, 19, of Rugby Avenue, Wembley; Damien Davies, 30, of Fullerton Close, Southampton; and a 16-year-old from London who cannot be named for legal reasons - were due to appear before magistrates in Southampton today.
