A SOUTHAMPTON teenager repeatedly hit his best friend over the head with a bottle because of a perceived slight over his attitude to his sister.

Frazer Talbot, who had been drinking and had not taken medication to control his bipolar disorder, fell out with Liam Chandler after they left Daisy Dip, on Bassett’s flower estate, at about 1am.

Talbot, 19, who had “self-medicated” on cannabis, punched Mr Chandler in the face and hit him with a bottle, which eventually smashed. The victim suffered a cut and bruising.

Talbot then walked into the road, fists raised and shouting obscenities. A taxi driver stopped his car and the teenager slammed his fists on the bonnet and punched a window.

Talbot, of Bursledon Road, Sholing, admitted causing actual bodily harm and using threatening words or behaviour.

He received a six-month suspended sentence, coupled with 12 months’ supervision and a four-month curfew. He was also told to pay his friend £150 compensation.
