Former EastEnder Michelle Ryan to star in Cabaret at Southampton

FORMER EastEnder Michelle Ryan is joining Will Young in the West End stage show Cabaret which is coming to Southampton later this year.

The actress, who played Zoe Slater in the soap, will take the role of cabaret artist Sally Bowles - made famous by Liza Minnelli in the film version.

Ryan was in EastEnders for five years before leaving in 2005 and later starred in a US remake of The Bionic Woman.

Cabaret was inspired by Christopher Isherwood's novels of pre-war Berlin and is set in a nightclub as the Nazis rise to power.

Young will play the part of the Emcee in the musical which show opens in London which will be performed at The Mayflower for a week from September 3.
