9:00am Saturday 16th June 2012 in Southampton

The figure in action
A SPECTACULAR music, acrobatics and fireworks event in Southampton has been postponed for 24 hours.
Organisers have decided not to go ahead tonight with Waterlitz, a spectacular music, dance, acrobatics and pyrotechnics street theatre show featuring a 60ft giant constructed out of shipping containers, which was due to take place in Mayflower Park.
They have decided to go ahead with the show on tomorrow evening instead.
The performance will start at 10pm, with shows starting from 8pm.
It comes after the Red Arrows flypast over Cunard's Three Queens had to be cancelled due to torrential rain on the Jubilee Weekend.

I have seen it in the park its just containers stacked up but I suppose once they project things onto it , it must come alive.

why so late (because it's dark one assumes)? on a Sunday evening too? i.e. school night but this immediately rules out the attendance of quite a large number of people. down there for 10pm with kids to go to school and peoples to start early shifts why not postpone it till the holidays when a lot of kids and families have no where to go. Bring back the Balloon Festival or some other entertainment for the families On The Common.

Its not lovely weather out there, but its not raining & I can remember many many firework displays in the pouring rain being still popular - recent 3 Queens was dismal but full of spectators.....

I'd like to know who was poor person had to go around putting a sticker saying "17" over the "16 June" on the poster - we drove down especially to see the show & I was slightly pleased that I was able to get close to town quay then even more surprised when I could drive right into Mayflower Park...it was very dark...& a few people lurched about looking hopeful. I parked the car in front of the Wicker Man, & we waited. ... then as we left I saw the date was changed.
