Burst pipe leaves homes in Southampton without water supplies

Homes left without water Homes left without water

HUNDREDS of homes in Southampton have been without water for most of the day after a mains pipe burst this morning.

A 15 inch pipe has ruptured cutting the water supply to homes in the Chilworth area of the city.

It took several hours for Southern Water to locate the pipe, which ran across private land, but engineers are now on scene and hope to rezone water from other areas to restore supply for residents shortly.

Hmmm... I thought I lived in the North Stoneham area but if we're being classified as Chilworth maybe my house is now worth more lol, (Even without a supply of running water!!!).

It's only Chilworth. They can drink out of their swimming pools!

Wouldn't a non-running tap have been a more appropriate picture for this item?
