TWO men were left with knife wounds after armed burglars targeted their Southampton home.

The men were in bed when the burglars broke into their house at The Dell in the centre of the city.

The gang of three men demanded the pair open a safe which contained £1,000 rent money while threatening them with the blade.

During the ordeal both men suffered minor injuries to their arm and shoulder, caused by the knife.

One victim told police how he woke to find the knifeman in his bedroom.

The gang managed to escape with the cash and an iPhone4.

The burglars are described as all being in their mid-20s.

The man who carried out the threats and assaults had a pencil-thin ginger moustache and a goatee beard.

Police want to hear from witnesses to the attack, which happened at about 3am last Thursday. Details have only just been released.
