MORE than 1,100 people were caught watching a TV in Southampton without a licence in just six months.

They are among more than 204,000 people caught across the UK.

TV Licensing said 95 per cent of homes are correctly licensed and people dodging licences make up just over five per cent.

A colour TV licence costs £145.50 and is required for watching or recording TV programmes as they are shown on TV, whether using a TV, computer, or other equipment.

The penalty is a fine of up to £1,000.

How on earth do you get 1,100 people watching a TV? Must have a huge screen....
