Sometime between 10.30pm on Thursday, 16 May and 2.30am the following morning, an address in Saxon Way was broken into.

The occupants of the address were woken by the sound of someone downstairs and then discovered a number of items had been stolen.

These included a £3,500 Orange Five mountain bike with numerous modifications – Shimano Zee brakes, a Rock Sox seat and Fox Talas front suspension Intense Invader tyres - and a Samsung laptop.

Pc Dave Hindle said: “Have you seen this bike being ridden around in the area? Have you been offered a bike or laptop for sale in what appear to be suspicious circumstances?
