THREE people have been taken to hospital after two fires broke out in a Hampshire prison in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were called to Winchester Prison at 1.38am after a fire broke out in a cell. One person was removed by prison guards and another was rescued by Winchester firefighters.
Just over an hour later, at 3.05am, they were called to another fire in a cell, in a separate wing.
The cause of both incidents is unknown.
Three people were taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
