IN the past three weeks he has been a Christmas pudding, a Christmas tree and even a Christmas cracker.
Hampshire man Saul Duck has staged his own fancy dress Advent calendar in a bid to raise funds for children’s charity the NSPCC.
The 44-year-old dad from Winchester wore a different outfit to work each day for the first three weeks of December.
Saul, who works at the Ericsson Television store in Hedge End, has dressed up as a pantomime dame, Scrooge, one of the three kings in the nativity, Father Christmas and even the white witch from C S Lewis children’s favourite The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
The costumes, which have been pro vided by Express Yourself Costumes based in Netley Abbey, have been a huge hit with work colleagues.
His fundraising efforts will end in April when he runs the London Marathon.
Saul said: “It was very amusing when I had to wear the costumes in work meetings. I had to pre-warn people and external customers that I was going to be dressed up. I was surprised how serious they were able to take me despite the costumes.
“My colleagues have been very good about it all. I was a bit nervous at the start but people have been very generous and supportive.
“I would say I did get costume fatigue. It was hard work. Beforehand I thought it would be easy but some of the costumes were physically demanding.”
So far Saul has raised more than £1,500. Donate at uk.virginmoney giving.com/SaulDuck.
