MONEY to support Winchester bus services should be switched from late-night routes to better used mid-evening ones, it has been suggested.
Several services between 7pm and 8.30pm have been scrapped after Hampshire County Council withdrew its subsidies, the town forum heard.
David Jones, of the Winchester Bus Travellers Club, urged the city council to negotiate with Stagecoach about providing more buses in the mid-evening.
He said: “They would be serving a wider range of the public and would probably be more attractive to Stagecoach.”
The town forum subsidies late buses on Thursdays to Saturday.
Cllr Janet Berry called for the forum to organise a public meeting about buses.
